To play Krillion, open krillion.io, start the daily dive and type one answer for each of the seven prompts before its 25-second timer runs out. Rarer valid answers earn more points, and every point sinks your diver 10 metres. Here are the rules, then practical ways to score deeper.
How to Play Krillion: Rules and Tips for Deeper Dives
Unofficial Krillion guide · Updated October 11, 2026
The rules in one minute
- Seven prompts a day, the same for everyone.
- 25 seconds to name one thing for each prompt. You type the answer; there are no options to pick from.
- Valid answers score by rarity. Rare answers score big; obvious ones barely count.
- Every point sinks you 10 metres. 700 points is the trench floor, a perfect dive.
- One daily dive per day, with no second chances.
- No account needed. Your progress is kept in your browser, and optional Google sign-in syncs it across devices.
Your first dive, step by step
- Open krillion.io in any modern browser on a phone or computer.
- Read the prompt as soon as it appears. The 25-second timer starts with it.
- Type one thing that fits the prompt and submit it before time runs out.
- Watch the depth gauge: the rarer your answer, the further your diver sinks.
- Repeat for all seven prompts, then check your result. The game shows how your dive compares with other players.
Tips for rarer answers
These are strategies, not guarantees: the answer lists and rarity scores are set by the developer, and you only find out what counts when you play.
- Skip your first thought. If an answer came to you instantly, it probably came to most players instantly too, and obvious answers barely score.
- Beware the "too clever" pick. The game names the go-to obscure answer that everyone reaches for as their clever choice. Go one step further than that.
- Go narrow, not strange. A specific, real answer from a corner of the category you know well is safer than a guess that may not be in the answer set at all.
- Use your own expertise. Answer lists are built from dictionaries, encyclopedias and wiki pages, so real things from your hobbies, job or hometown can count even when few people would name them.
- Don't run out the clock. Obvious answers still count for a little, and an empty box can't score at all. If you are stuck at the end, type the safe answer.
What is the Krillion?
The Krillion is a special answer hidden in each prompt. It is not always the single rarest answer: the developer picks it for rarity and for fun, choosing an answer that is satisfying to land on and that at least a few players actually find. Landing it is the game's version of a perfect shot.
Playing with friends
Krillion has an optional Friends feature. You pick a username and share an invite link, and you get a leaderboard that only you and your friends can see. Friends see your daily score once they have finished their own dive, and by default they can also see that day's answers after finishing theirs, which you can turn off. On Discord, the Krillion Activity can post optional daily recaps of scores in a channel, without answers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you have for each Krillion prompt?
25 seconds per prompt, with seven prompts in the daily dive.
Does Krillion accept any answer?
No. Your answer must be in the prompt's curated answer set. If a fair answer is missing, the official FAQ says it is usually a missed source.
Why did my clever answer score so little?
It was probably "too clever": the go-to obscure pick that many players think of. Rarity is based on how familiar an answer is, not on how clever it feels.
Do I need an account to play Krillion?
No. You can play without an account, name or email. Google sign-in is optional and syncs your history across devices.
Where can I see today's Krillion answers?
Finish today's dive on krillion.io to see your result. If you use the Friends feature, friends who share their answers let you see them after you finish your own dive. We don't publish daily answer lists.
